What is the difference between cruelty-free and vegan? Cruelty-free and vegan are two terms often used interchangeably. This means that neither the final product nor its individual ingredients have undergone any form of animal testing. Cruelty-free products focus on ensuring that animals are not harmed or exploited during the product development and testing phases.Vegan, on the other hand, refers to products that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. Vegan products are made entirely from plant-based, synthetic, or mineral ingredients. This means that they are free from substances like beeswax, honey, lanolin, collagen, gelatin, and other ingredients derived from animals. Vegan products focus on avoiding the use of animal-derived components to minimize harm to animals and promote ethical consumer choices.It's important to note that a product can be cruelty-free but not vegan, and vice versa. For example, a cruelty-free product may still contain animal-derived ingredients, while a vegan product might have been tested on animals.
